General Information


The Twin 40 mm Gun Motor Carriage M19 was a self propelled artillery vehicle , 285 of which were used by the americans between 1944 and 1945.

The vehicle was manned by a crew of 6 and was 2.97 metres wide, 5.54 metres long, 2.49 metres high and weighed 18.41 tonnes.

Powered by a 550hp petrol engine the Twin 40 mm Gun Motor Carriage M19 was capable of a road speed of 35mph and a cross country speed of 25mph. The 115 gallon fuel capacity gave the Twin 40 mm Gun Motor Carriage M19 a road range of 160 miles

Based on the sp gun chassis, the vehicle was armed with a 40mm Automatic Gun M2 with a muzzle velocity of 926m/sec which was capable of penetrating 44mm of armour at 800metres
