General Information

The Medium M3A3 (Grant IV)also known as Grant was a medium tank , 322 of which were used by the americans between 1941 and 1945.

The vehicle was manned by a crew of 6 and was 2.74 metres wide, 5.69 metres long, 3.15 metres high and weighed 28.5 tonnes.

Powered by a 375hp petrol engine the Medium M3A3 (Grant IV) was capable of a road speed of 26mph and a cross country speed of 16mph. The 170 gallon fuel capacity gave the Medium M3A3 (Grant IV) a road range of 120 miles

Based on the medium tank chassis, the vehicle was armed with 3 light machine guns, a 37mm Antitank Gun M6 with a muzzle velocity of 885m/sec which was capable of penetrating 48mm of armour at 800metres and a 75mm Gun M2 L/31 with a muzzle velocity of 588m/sec which was capable of penetrating 65mm of armour at 800metres
