General Information


The Medium M2A1 was a medium tank , 74 of which were used by the americans between 1940 and 1945.

The vehicle was manned by a crew of 6 and was 2.66 metres wide, 5.43 metres long, 2.86 metres high and weighed 23 tonnes.

Powered by a 350hp petrol engine the Medium M2A1 was capable of a road speed of 30mph and a cross country speed of 17mph. The 175 gallon fuel capacity gave the Medium M2A1 a road range of 130 miles

Based on the medium tank chassis, the vehicle was armed with 8 light machine guns, a 37mm Antitank Gun M6 with a muzzle velocity of 885m/sec which was capable of penetrating 48mm of armour at 800metres
