General Information


The StuG III Ausf A 7.5cm Stu.K. L/24also known as Stug III was a self propelled artillery vehicle , 30 of which were used by the germans between 1940 and 1945.

The vehicle was manned by a crew of 4 and was 2.92 metres wide, 5.38 metres long, 1.95 metres high and weighed 19.6 tonnes.

Powered by a 300hp petrol engine the StuG III Ausf A 7.5cm Stu.K. L/24 was capable of a road speed of 25mph and a cross country speed of 11mph. The StuG III Ausf A 7.5cm Stu.K. L/24 had a road range of 96 miles

Based on the pzkpfw iii chassis, the vehicle was armed with a 7.5cm StuK 37 L/24 AP with a muzzle velocity of 385m/sec which was capable of penetrating 46mm of armour at 800metres
