General Information

The PzKpfw II was built by utilising the lengthened Ausf A chassis designed for the Kleiner Panzerbefehlswagen I after it was realised that the PzKpfw I was underpowered and had an engine prone to overheating. It was track driven with the engine and drive sprocket to the front of the vehicle, the track fed under 5 roadwheels, and then under a rear idler, finally returning to the front drive sprocket via 4 return rollers. It used the same superstructure and turret as the PzKpfw I.
