The T-44 was a medium tank , 50 of which were used by the russians between 1945 and 1945. The vehicle was manned by a crew of 4 and was 3.14 metres wide, 8.15 metres long, 2.42 metres high and weighed 34 tonnes. Powered by a 512hp petrol engine the T-44 was capable of a road speed of 32mph and a cross country speed of 17mph. The 228 gallon fuel capacity gave the T-44 a road range of 228 miles and a cross country range of 132 miles. Based on the medium tank chassis, the vehicle was armed with 2 light machine guns, a 100mm Gun D-10 L/54 with a muzzle velocity of 900m/sec which was capable of penetrating 175mm of armour at 800metres
