The M8 Greyhound Armoured Car was an armoured car , 8523 of which were used by the americans between 1943 and 1945. The vehicle was manned by a crew of 4 and was 2.56 metres wide, 5.08 metres long, 2.26 metres high and weighed 7.73 tonnes. Powered by a 110hp petrol engine the M8 Greyhound Armoured Car was capable of a road speed of 55mph and a cross country speed of 30mph. The 56 gallon fuel capacity gave the M8 Greyhound Armoured Car a road range of 350 miles Based on the armoured car chassis, the vehicle was armed with a 37mm Antitank Gun M6 with a muzzle velocity of 885m/sec which was capable of penetrating 48mm of armour at 800metres
