The Carrier AEC 6pdr Gun Mk I (Deacon)also known as Deacon was a self propelled anti tank vehicle , 175 of which were used by the british between 1942 and 1945.

The vehicle was manned by a crew of 5 and was 2.77 metres wide, 6.49 metres long, 2.92 metres high and weighed 12 tonnes.

Powered by a hp petrol engine the Carrier AEC 6pdr Gun Mk I (Deacon) was capable of a road speed of 19mph and a cross country speed of 6mph.

Based on the sp gun chassis, the vehicle was armed with a Ordnance Q.F. 6pdr 7cwt MKII MKIV with a muzzle velocity of 900m/sec which was capable of penetrating 75mm of armour at 800metres
