Inf Tank Mk II (Matilda  II A12)

The Inf Tank Mk II (Matilda II A12)also known as Matilda was a infantry tank used by the british between 1940 and 1945.

The vehicle was manned by a crew of 4 and was 2.62 metres wide, 5.69 metres long, 2.46 metres high and weighed 26.5 tonnes.

Powered by a 174hp petrol engine the Inf Tank Mk II (Matilda II A12) was capable of a road speed of 15mph and a cross country speed of 8mph. The 56 gallon fuel capacity gave the Inf Tank Mk II (Matilda II A12) a road range of 100 miles and a cross country range of 61 miles.

Based on the matilda chassis, the vehicle was armed with 1 light machine gun, a Ordnance Q.F. 2pdr with a muzzle velocity of 792m/sec which was capable of penetrating 47mm of armour at 800metres
