T-28B

USSR

 

The T-28B was a medium tank used by the russians between 1939 and 1945.

The vehicle was manned by a crew of 6 and was 2.83 metres wide, 5.54 metres long, 2.85 metres high and weighed 28.5 tonnes.

Powered by a 500hp petrol engine the T-28B was capable of a road speed of 23mph and a cross country speed of 14mph. The 143 gallon fuel capacity gave the T-28B a road range of 110 miles and a cross country range of 85 miles.

Based on the medium tank chassis, the vehicle was armed with 3 light machine guns, a 76.2mm Regimental Gun M27 L/16 with a muzzle velocity of 387m/sec which was capable of penetrating 41mm of armour at 800metres
