Cruiser Mk IV

The Cruiser Mk IV was a cruiser tank , 655 of which were used by the british between 1938 and 1945.

The vehicle was manned by a crew of 4 and was 2.56 metres wide, 6.08 metres long, 2.62 metres high and weighed 14.75 tonnes.

Powered by a 340hp petrol engine the Cruiser Mk IV was capable of a road speed of 30mph and a cross country speed of 14mph. The 120 gallon fuel capacity gave the Cruiser Mk IV a road range of 90 miles

Based on the cruiser tank chassis, the vehicle was armed with 1 light machine gun, a Ordnance Q.F. 2pdr with a muzzle velocity of 792m/sec which was capable of penetrating 47mm of armour at 800metres
