T-26/A-4

USSR

 

The T-26/A-4 was a light tank used by the russians between 1931 and 1945.

The vehicle was manned by a crew of 3 and was 2.42 metres wide, 4.85 metres long, 2.08 metres high and weighed 8.5 tonnes.

Powered by a 88hp petrol engine the T-26/A-4 was capable of a road speed of 22mph and a cross country speed of 15mph. The 40 gallon fuel capacity gave the T-26/A-4 a road range of 87 miles and a cross country range of 60 miles.

Based on the light tank chassis, the vehicle was armed with 1 light machine gun, a 37mm Hotchkiss L/21 with a muzzle velocity of 402m/sec which was capable of penetrating 11mm of armour at 800metres
